“Star of Seadust” comes from the meaning of my middle and last name: Marie which means “star of the sea” and Staub which is German for dust. It represents me while also giving a sense of magic and wonder, which I aspire for my art to have.

I have loved storytelling since I was a kid playing with barbies and typing up stories about mermaids in notepad. I work with acrylic, watercolor, and ink to tell stories through illustration. I make art to rediscover my childlike wonder. My goal is to create work that is joyful, silly, comforting, and that helps viewers find their whimsy and see beauty in the mundane.

I started this business project as a way to begin making small products out of my larger illustration work as well as meet people through attending events and exchanging art. My stickers and prints are an exploration of color and fantastical elements.
